MET Press website - a new look & changed purchasing
The main website of Modern English Tanka Press / MET Press, at www.themetpress.com , has been given a whole new look, with larger cover graphics for our books and journals, and with a changed purchasing method. MET Press is no longer directly retailing its titles.
The new buttons on the bookstore pages all lead to our Lulu.com retail website. The "DETAILS" buttons link to each title's product page, each of which has a buy button. There are also "BUY THIS BOOK AT LULU.COM" buttons which add titles directly to your own Lulu.com shopping cart. Finally, there are large "GO TO METP'S LULU.COM BOOKSTORE" buttons which link to our overall bookstore page at http://stores.lulu.com/modernenglishtanka which is perhaps the simplest way to shop for MET Press books.
Conducting a retail operation has been unduly labor-intensive and that was strangling the growth of our titles list. Since it has always been the case that book and journal orders entered on themetpress.com website were actually fulfilled by our printing and retail vendor, Lulu.com, this change in process should not affect most customers. In fact, since we were forced to apply flat rates for S&H, customers may realize lower costs shopping directly on Lulu.com.
We are glad to get back to our original business — publishing. I hope everyone finds the new arrangements work well for them.
best wishes,
Denis M. Garrison
